Junius “June” Miller of Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Junius “June” Miller, son of the late Wade Miller and Virgie Watson Miller, was born September 26, 1926 in Boswell, Arkansas. He departed this life November 14, 2016 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 19 days. In January 1944 he was united in marriage to Lorene Jeffery and to this union two daughters were born. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was employed by Hayes Brothers as an electrician. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Calico Rock. He was also a 32 degree mason.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Vena and Mac Stubbs of Little Rock; two brothers: Lowell Miller of Calico Rock and Norman Miller of Texas; one sister: Doris Markle of Lead Hill, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Shelly Showmar of Little Rock, Tim Stubbs of Little Rock and Clint Lucy of Batesville; three great grandchildren: Brandon Showmar, Leighton Stubbs and Molly Lucy and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter: Sue Lucy; two sisters: Naomi Albritton and Nadine Vogel.
Funeral service will be Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Kevin Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 450, Calico Rock, Arkansas 72519.
Pallbearers: Mac Stubbs, Tommy Marchant, Tom Hamby, Rodney Showmar, Tim Stubbs, Mike Miller. Honorary Pallbearers: Bob Watson, Bill Lucy.
