Ethel Elizabeth Hammond, 90, died May 11, 2005 in Conway. She was born October 27, 1914 to the late Arthur Ellis and Lillian Ingram Hammond. Ethel was the owner and operator of the Rose Beauty Shop downtown and later in her home in Conway for over 50 years. She was predeceased by all of her brothers and sister: Ralph, Ruby, Frank, Moore, Ingram, and Joe Hammond.

Ethel was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conway for most of her life and a member of Eastern Star.

She leaves behind seven nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews, and 25 great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery, whose land was donated to the city of Conway by Ethel's grandfather, John Ingram.

Visitation is Saturday, May 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
