Glenda Jean Pitchford, 65, of Van Buren passed away at her home Friday, November 14, 2014. She was a former owner of the Pointer Castle, and a former grocery store employee. She was a member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith, and later attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a past treasurer of the Salem Cemetery in Cedarville. She was a pianist for new Bethel Assembly of God Church in Fort Smith, and a cancer survivor for eleven years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Lester and Jewell Nye.

Service will be at 1 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with Reverend Don Nye officiating with burial at Salem Cemetery in Cedarville under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Survivors are her husband, Buster Pitchford of the home; two daughters, Lean Goins of Van Buren and Ellie Harvey of Cecil AR; two sons, Lester Pitchford of the home and Bud Pitchford of Dyer; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kaye Masterson of Van Buren and Lois Chancellor of Rudy; two brothers, Reverend Don Nye of Johnson, AR and Burl Nye of Etna, AR.

Pallbearers are Rick Nye, Bryan Nye, Darron Ming, Shane Pitchford, Bud Pitchford, and Mike Stephenson.

Relatives and friends will visit with the family Monday, November 17, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.
