Hester Marie Johnson Ferguson, of Quitman, went to be with her Lord, on October 24, 2007. Born February 13, 1919, in Quitman, she was the eldest daughter of the late Harvey and Tina (Prim) Johnson. Hester was the widow of a WWII Army veteran, Randle Ferguson. They were married for 56 years during which time they raised their four children and ten foster children.

Surviving Hester are her children: Loventrice Deckard of Mt. Ida, Greg Ferguson of Mayflower, Debbie Ferguson and Faye Richardson of Quitman; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, with twin great-granddaughters on the way. Also surviving is a sister, Ann Corey of Grand Rapid, MI. She was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church for 68 years, Mid-Way Home extension club, the Women's Auxiliary and the Ladies Coffee Group at the Heritage Living Center, in Conway.

Funeral Services will be held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, on Saturday, October 27, at 10:00 am. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers with interment at Old Texas Cemetery in Guy. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Quitman AR.
