CANE HILL — Richard James Thompson, 55, of Cane Hill passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at home. He was born July 14, 1956 in Madrid, Spain, the son of Richard Joseph Thompson and Luisa Nieto Thompson.
He was a farmer, a volunteer at the Fayetteville Public Library and a 32nd-degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dianna Thompson of the home; daughter, Christina and her husband, Patrick Vita, of Cane Hill; son, Richard Thompson Jr. of Fayetteville; two brothers, a sister; and two grandchildren, Savannah and Caleb.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Beard's Chapel. The family will have a private burial.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Beard's Chapel.
The family requests that memorials in his name go to Peace at Home, P.O. Box 10946, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
