Sue Harris Atkinson, 89 of Star City, died Sunday at Gardner Nursing Center in Star City.
She was born February 11, 1924 in Paris, AR to the late A. W. and Fannie Lea Spillers Harris.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Star City, where she faithfully served in various positions, charter member of the Star City Book Club and Eastern Star and she was a retired Insurance Agent and substitute teacher for many years at the Star City Schools.
Also preceding her in death was her husband; Jack B. Atkinson.
Survivors include 2 sons; Gary L. Atkinson of Pine Bluff and Wayne H. Atkinson (Darlene) of Kingwood, TX, 3 daughters; Detri L. McGhee (Gary) of Star City, Nikki M. Kelly (Freddie) of Jacksonville and Tena J. Stinson of Star City, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and special family friend; Tommye Baugh of Star City.
Funeral Services are 11:00AM Tuesday at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Andy Atkinson officiating.
Visitation is 10:00-11:00AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial at Best Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kevin Kelly, Cody Kelly, Tim Atkinson, Sam McGhee, Daniel McGhee, Gerald Haynes, Robert McVay, Yancey Kelly and Kyle Picard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon's International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
