Herman Eugene Glover, 95, of Guy, AR passed away at his home May 29, 2008. He was born in Guy, AR on October 19, 1912 to the late John Richard and Madge Kerr Glover. Herman was a retired farmer and cattleman. He attended Chickenbristle School in Guy, AR. He served on the Guy-Perkins School Board for 43 years. He was an avid baseball player and fan. He was chosen as an All-State Baseball Player in 1955 at the age of 43. He was a member of Guy Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Lora LeMarr Glover, as well as six brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by ten children: three daughters- Wilma Glover Evans and husband, Truman, of Conway, AR; Joyce Glover Battles and husband, Bobby, of Greenbrier, AR; Florene Glover Stephens and husband, David, of Guy, AR and seven sons- J.T. Glover and wife, Dorothy, of El Paso, AR; Jerry L. Glover and wife, Edra, of Guy, AR; Jim Glover and wife, Sherrill, of Greensboro, NC; Gary Glover and wife, Jeannie, of Guy, AR; Bruce Glover and wife, Vickie, of Conway, AR; B.F. Glover and wife, Sharon, of Guy, AR; Mickey Glover and wife, Kayla, of Damascus, AR. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. He has one surviving sister, Eloise Glover Tyler, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Guy Church of Christ, with Mr. Clark Hooten and Bro. Ed Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow at Old Texas Cemetery in Guy, AR with his grandsons serving as pallbearers: Randy Evans, Shawn Evans, Bobby Glover, Mark Glover, Jamie Glover, Ryan Glover, Dale Battles, Bruce E. Glover, Brett Glover, Kelly Glover, Jeff Glover, Davy Stephens, Wesley Stephens, Josh Glover and Tyler Glover. Honorary Pallbearers are: E.C. Rowlett, Ricky Wiedower, John Hutchcraft, Benny Ladd, Jack Simpkins, Bobby Gilmore, Billy Henry and Wayne Stevenson.

Lora Alice Lemarr Glover, 88, of Guy, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2005 at Conway Regional Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1916 in Edgemont, AR to the late Thomas and Elsie Allen Lemarr. She was a much loved member of Guy Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Cleon Rooney, stepfather, Jim Rooney, and stepsister, Ora Rooney.

She leaves behind her husband of 71 years, Herman Glover; 7 sons, 3 daughters, 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service held July 13 at Guy Church of Christ with Dan Newsom and Clark Hooten officiating. Burial in Old Texas Cemetery in Guy. Pallbearers are her grandsons. Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier in charge of arrangements.
