Eddie's Family Funeral Home, Melbourne
Jean Brooks Smith, daughter of the late Warren Brooks and Effie Weatherford Brooks, was born June 26, 1943 in Mt Pleasant, Arkansas. She departed this life June 22, 2015 at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 27 days. She was united in marriage to James Farris “Pete” Smith and to this union five children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Melissa Smith of Gid; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Marketta Smith of Russellville, Marieta “Sue” and Danny Condrey of Gid, Jacquta “Lolly” and Jeff Engles of Gid and Benita “ Fanny” and Jason Davis of Russellville; one brother: Jasper Brooks of Fort Smith; two sisters: Sharon Smith of Sidney and Shelby O’Neal of Dallas, Texas; twelve grandchildren: Matthew and Jeremy Stroud, Tamra Brightwell, Anthony Love, Dalton Condrey, Will and Emily Smith, Sarah Shrum, Alex Engles, Kayla Cunningham, Cheynne Conway, Derek Clark and Bobby Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Shannon Smith officiating. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Memorials may be made to Reeves Cemetery Maintenance Fund, C/O Cheryl Shaver, 5062 West AR Hwy 58, Melbourne, Arkansas, 72556.
Pallbearers: Matthew Stroud, Jeremy Stroud, Anthony Love, Dalton Condrey, Will Smith, Alex Engles, Bobby Clark and Derek Clark.
