FAYETTEVILLE — Mary DeLena Brown, 101, a resident of Fayetteville, passed away Sept 2, 2012, in Fayetteville. She was born Nov. 28, 1910. in Galena, Ark., the daughter of Edward and Dovie Ann Wiser Luster.
She was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church. Lena was a former resident of the Farmington community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bence Brown, in 2001; one daughter, LaVerne Hester in 2011.
Survivors include one daughter, DeVell Williams of Springfield, Mo.; one half brother, Lewis Luster of St. Louis; one half sister, Gwendolyn Hughes of Los Angeles; one stepsister, Dorothy Smith of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on this evening (Tuesday) from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with burial in the Farmington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Brett Hester, Chris Hester, Travis Hester, Steve Kennan, Tim Williams, Laura Bennett, and Jill Jorgensen.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Pam Kennan, Kim Williams, Donna Hester, Debra Hester, Peri Hester.
In lieu of flowers, family asks memorials be made to the Willard Walker Hospice House, 325 Longview St., Fayetteville, AR 72703.
