She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Powell, and a son, Byron Theodore Griffith.Pat is survived by her husband of 56 years, Royce Lee Griffith. Survivors also include daughter Patricia Lee Griffith of Little Rock, AR; daughter Becky Hale and her husband, Ron, of North Little Rock, AR; son John Griffith and his wife, Alice, of Nashville, TN; "adopted" daughter Carol Barber and her husband Charlie, of Jonesboro, AR; brother Bill Powell and his wife, Kathy, of Venice, FL; brother Bob Powell and his wife, Jo of Rye, AR; sister Martha Blancke and her husband, Dudley, of Hot Springs, AR; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.Pat had a special interest in and love for lighthouses. How ironic that as head of our family, she was our lighthouse and beacon, with a power and continuous light that served as a priceless example to her loved ones as we navigate through life.Pat's devotion to God and her unwavering faith and diligence in prayer was her strength in difficult times and a joyful response in the good. It was her belief that when our perishable earthly bodies have been transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die, then at last the scriptures will come true: "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (I Cor. 15:55-57). Today, the sting of death is felt deeply by her loved church family, and many friends, but we rejoice in Pat's ultimate victory and celebrate a life well lived.Visitation will be Monday, August 1, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wynne Church of Christ, 916 East Bridges Street, Wynne, AR.
