J.H. Bird, who has been sick with consumption for some time, died Monday evening at nine o'clock at the home of his brother, W.R. Bird, a short distance west of town. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Cook, pastor of the church after which the remains were interred in the Lutheran cemetery. Deceased was about 45 years of age and was unmarried. He had been a resident of this section for a number of years and was an exemplary citizen, respected by all.
