Betty Marie Reed Starkey of Conway, AR passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 25, 2006.
Born in Plumerville, AR on January 10, 1935, Betty was a daughter of the late Winfred C. and Margaret Stell Reed. She married Bobby J. Starkey on June 24, 1951 and was the mother of three children.
She was a graduate of Conway High School, a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a retired office manager and homemaker. She spent her life supporting her children and grandchildren and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorback fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nona Mae Reed, sister Helen Ruth Reed, and brother James W. Reed.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Danita Starkey Webb and son-in-law John Ed Webb of Conway, son Reed Starkey and daughter-in-law Connie Starkey of Conway, and son Marty Starkey of Fort Smith. Her pride and joy, five grandsons, Matthew G. Webb of Little Rock, Eric Webb of Fayetteville, Michael Starkey of Fayetteville, Ryan Starkey of Fort Smith, and Kurt Starkey of Fort Smith also survive her.
Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., November 28th at Roller McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, AR., officiated by Reverend Henry Horton and Reverend Robert McDaniel. Visitation will be held on Monday evening, November 27th, 2006, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Roller McNutt Funeral Home.
Pall Bearers will be Matthew Webb, Eric Webb, Michael Starkey, Ryan Starkey, Kurt Starkey, and Hugh Starkey. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Betty's name to Antioch Baptist Church, 150 Amity Rd, Conway, AR 72032, or Arkansas Hospice, 1014 Markham, Conway, AR 72032.
