Chester Lyle Baugh, 82, of Conway, died Sunday (Aug. 4, 2002) at a Little Rock hospital.
Mr. Baugh was born April 27, 1920, at Searcy, a son of the late Luther Pierson and Mary Etta Smith Baugh. He was a retired machinist.
Mr. Baugh and his wife, Anne, were charter members of the Saltillo Heights Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he attained the rank of chief, and was in the Seabee's Construction Battalion.
For the past 10 years, Mr. Baugh has devoted himself to caring for his wife of 67 years, who is suffering from Alzheimer's.
Mr. Baugh is survived by his wife, Anne Floyd Baugh of Conway; a son, Jim Baugh of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Judith Goff of Harrison; three brothers, Earl Baugh of Glendale, Ariz., Cecil Baugh of Peoria, Ariz., and Halbert Baugh of San Fernando, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jared, Justin, Jason, Amanda and Shelly; two great-grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Griffin Leggett-Conway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Norman Powell officiating. Private burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Anne Baugh, 85 of Conway, died Wednesday in a local nursing home. Mrs. Baugh was born March 10, 1921 to the late James David and Essie (Handcock) Floyd.
Mrs. Baugh is preceded in death by her husband, Chester L. Baugh. She is survived by son Jim Baugh of Chandler, AZ and daughter, Judith Goff of Harrison, AR.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements by Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Dr., Conway, AR 72024, 510-327-5000.
