Joseph Elmer LaLonde 76 of Conway passed away Monday, July 4, 2005 at home. LaLonde was born May 25, 1929 in Detroit, Mich., a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Price) LaLonde. Joseph was also preceded in death by his wife, Olive Carol (Chubb); two brothers, Willard and Jessie LaLonde and two grandsons, Bobby Conrad and Tommy Phipps. Joseph was retired from the U. S. Navy. He is survived by daughters, Connie Conrad of Melbourne, Ark., Charlene Bowman of Gallup, N.M., Nora Culver and Missy Bittner of Ulysses, Kan., Nita Phipps of Conway; sons, Mark Bittner of Collinsville, Okla., Gerald Bittner of Pryor, Okla., and Matt Bittner of Missouri; brothers, Jack Robert LaLonde of Tennessee and Raymond LaLonde of Westland, Mich.; one sister, Ruth O'Sullivan of Arizona; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 8 at the Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home., 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Ark. 7034. A private interment will be held at a later date in Melbourne Cemetery. Online obituary is available at www.griffinleggett.com.
