VIOLET HILL — Veneita Morgan Gaston, 84, of Violet Hill died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Batesville.
Born Nov. 22, 1924, in Wideman, she was the daughter of Ed and Mattie Webb Morgan. She was united in marriage to Doyne Gaston. She worked with her husband on their farm and was employed at Baxter Laboratory for many years. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Forrest Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Terry Gaston of Violet Hill; a daughter, Sharon Weaver of Violet Hill; 10 grandchildren, Debra Hoskinds, Dena Morehead, Tammy Stroud, Brent Weaver, Doug Arnold, Chris Arnold, Jamie Roddy, Jody Conway, Amy Dikes and Tony Conway; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three daughters, Sharon Morgan, Kathleen Arnold and an infant.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne. Burial was in Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Josh Morehead, Ethan Morehead, Jason Hoskinds, Chris Coleman, Marvin Hoskinds and Tony Conway.
Honorary pallbearers were members of Forrest Chapel Methodist Church.
