Totsie Marie Blevins Wood, daughter of the late William Richard Blevins and Addie Valentine Beavers Blevins, was born December 17, 1920 in Violet Hill, Arkansas. She departed this life February 27, 2015 in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 10 days. She was united in marriage to Wayne Wood January 24, 1939 and to this union one daughter was born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Midway Baptist Church.
She is survived by three grandchildren: Melissa Melton of Melbourne, Billie Browning of Searcy and Christopher Browning of Melbourne; four great grandchildren: Ethan Gague Melton, Edge Melton, Zoey Browning and Tucker Wayne Browning; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter: Peggy Browning; one infant son; twelve brothers and sisters: Nellie Fleming, Ray Blevins, Amanda Fleming, Laura Dillard, Albert Blevins, Walter Blevins, Thurman Blevins, Carl Blevins, Roxie Gillihan Hollowell, Bryan Blevins, Troy Blevins and Clyde Blevins.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Sunday, March 1 from 5-7 p.m.
Pallbearers: John David Miller, David Miller, Ron Helm, Don Glasser, Ed Roberts and Jason Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers: Lee Campbell Watson and James “Fat” Smith.
