Virginia Lou Bass, 91 of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas passed away, Wednesday, March, 11, 2015 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 29, 1923 to the late Florence Z (Bottle) and Leroy D. Strouse. Virginia was united in marriage to Clair Duane Bass on July 23, 1943.
She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Virginia worked as a secretary for many years in the United Methodist Church, two years for the Milwaukee Railroad and worked in the Audio Visual Department in Franklin Park, Illinois. She moved to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas in 1980 and has enjoyed participating in bowling, golfing, member of the Railroad Club, Illinois Club, AARP, United Methodist Church and Methodist Women and some volunteering when she could be helping someone. Virginia also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles (the hard ones) and Paint by Numbers and quilting.
She is survived by her sons, Scott Bass and Roy Bass; grandchildren, Michael Kronenburg, Cheryl Baker, Heather Jennett, Roy Bass Jr, Toni Lynn and Joseph; several great grandchildren and many dear friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, only brother, Robert Scott Strouse, and daughter, Judy Ann (Bass) Fiegel.
Arrangements entrusted to Doty Family Funeral and Memorial Service. Memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 21, 2015 beginning at 3:30 PM at the Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church with Reverend Ken Anderson officiating.
