Flossie Mae Russell Helton, 95, of Conway passed away Tuesday March 8, 2016 at her home. She was born February 13, 1921 to the late Delbert L. and Clida Mae Edwards Russell in Hattieville, AR.

She served as a member of the Elders Board of the Arkansas Cherokee Nation, also known as the Tiskamogi Cherokee of Arkansas. Her grandmother, Millie I. Brimm Edwards was a full blood Tiskamogi Cherokee. Mrs. Helton also was a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church of Conway.

Mrs. Helton was a homeworker where her family was her complete world. She was well known for cooking, where no one was ever refused and you 'best not ever say no'.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Gerald Helton; one son Pat Eugene Helton; two sisters Merle Henry and Louise Curtis; and one brother D. L. Russell.

She is survived by four sons: Billy R. Helton and wife Bobbi of Conway, Nathan Leon Helton of Conway, Harold A. Helton of Conway, Danny W. Helton and wife Sharon of Conway; one daughter, Marilyn K. Helton Reeves and husband Don of Conway; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her Funeral Service will be 1:00PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with Brother James Isaacs officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.

Pallbearers are Shane Helton, Patrick Reeves, Robert Reeves, Chris Helton, Max Young and Don Reeves. Honorary pallbearer is David Helton.
