CARRIGER, Rita HISE - Departed this life on Dec. 2, 1902 at her home on White River near Creech, Mrs. Rita Carriger, of typhoid fever after an illness of 47 days. Mrs. Carriger came to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hise, in 1874. On Nov. 14, 1875 she was married to her now bereaved husband, J.L. Carriger. Mrs. Carriger's age was 44 years, 2 months and 20 days. She leaves one son and her husband to mourn her loss, to whom the entire community extends their tenderest sympathy. Mrs. Carriger was an intelligent, refined woman, a devoted wife, an indulgent mother, a generous neighbor and a noble christian, having been a member of the Christian church for a number of years.
