James Taylor Clark Sr., 80, died Thursday (July 5, 2007) at his home in Conway.

Taylor was born March 7, 1927, in Conway to James F. and Louise (Taylor) Clark. He graduated from Conway High School in 1944, at which time he joined the Naval Aviation Services, where he remained for the duration of World War II.

Taylor enrolled and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College, The University of Tennessee at Memphis and The University of Texas at Houston. Dr. Clark certified as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and practiced for 30 years.

Dr. Clark is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bobbie Jean (Morton) Clark, and children; Dr. Jimmy Clark, Laura Ann Clark, and Paul S. Clark and wife Eleasa, all of Conway. He is survived by five grandchildren; Elizabeth Arnold, Dana Clark, Caroline Arnold, Taylor Clark III, and Megan Myers, all of Conway. He is also survived by a brother; Dr. Robert L. Clark and wife Leanna of Conway and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dr. Clark developed a passion for airplanes and flying, lasting through most of his lifetime, having sold his last small airplane at the age of 79. Clark also had a love for the great outdoors; hunting, camping and fishing. He was a charter member of the Crossett Camp of The Big Island Hunting Club and the General Menifee Hunting Club of Conway County.

Jim leaves behind many wonderful friends, young and old, in Conway and throughout Arkansas. With very little encouragement, Jim could be talked into telling a joke.

Memorial Services for Jim will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
