Betty Ann Majors-Shelton was born on July 19, 1934 at Franklin, Arkansas. She departed this life at her home in Decatur, Indiana on June 2, 1999 with her husband and children by her side.
She was the daughter and youngest child of Lee and Cleffie Esterlee Williams-Majors. She lived her life as a daughter, grand-daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of The Church of Christ, a girl scout, boy scout and cub scout leader, and a homemaker.
She was married to Johnny Lee Shelton of Franklin, Arkansas on February 13, 1954 and to this union three children were born.
Survivors include her husband, John, of the home; two sons, Jackson Garner Shelton of Decatur, Indiana, and Jay Steven Shelton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Joan Carle Shelton-Braun of Saratoga, Wyoming; two grandchildren, Lindsey Ann Braun and Jonathan Edward Braun of Saratoga, Wyoming and one son-in-law, Louis Braun of Saratoga, Wyoming. She is also survived by one brother, Willard D Majors and wife Mary of Blue Springs, Missouri; three sisters, Johnnie Lee Majors-Marney and her husband Bob of Rock Island, Washington, Glenda Mary Majors-Ramsey of Melbourne, Arkansas and Willie Mae Majors-Seaba of Kansas City, Missouri. Other survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, three brothers, Vincent Victor Majors, R.G.Majors and J.C.Majors.
Funeral services were held on June 7, 1999 in the Crouch Chapel in Melbourne, Arkansas followed by a graveside service at Roberts Cemetery in Franklin, Arkansas.
Serving as pallbearers were James Floyd, Jerry Floyd, Chad Bookout, Bob Ramsey, Jim Ramsey and Danny Ramsey.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were J.C. Majors,Jr and Jake Mitchell Majors.
