MELBOURNE — Gale Wayne Melton, 67, of Melbourne died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at his home.
Born Sept. 11, 1943, in Brockwell, he was the son of Marvin Henry Melton and Mazell Morehead Melton. He was a farmer and a mechanic. He was married to Mary Roddy Melton. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Rick Melton of Yakima, Wash., Danny Melton of Anderson, Ind., Teddy Blevins of Viola and Chris Melton and Charles Melton, both of Melbourne; two daughters, Rhonda Melton of Melbourne and Tammy Campos of Agnos; three brothers, Graden Melton and Lowell Melton, both of Brockwell, and Jim Melton of Selah, Wash.; a sister, Marie Morris of Melbourne; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a wife, Christene Ramsey Melton.
The funeral was 10 a.m. today at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Rick Burke officiating. Burial was in Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Gene McSpadden, J.D. Roberts, Tim Smith, Danny Donovan, Roger Melton and Ronnie Morris.
Honorary pallbearers were Will Smith, Rex Ogle and Brad Jurgens.
