James Milton Christie, 91, of 664 Crestwood Rd., died early Thursday morning in a local hospital. Mr. Christie was born January 20, 1881 in Columbia County. He was a member of the Timothy Methodist Church, a 50-years Mason, and a retired railroad engineer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie Lewis Christie; one son, Orvil Christie of Camden; six daughters, Mrs. Agnes Murphy and Mrs. Mildred Andrews of Magnolia; Mrs. Catherine Arrington of Camden, Mrs. Marie Bridges of Bemis, Tenn.; Mrs. Margaret Tucker of Hot Springs, and Mrs. Beatrice Andrews of Camden; 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m., at Timothy Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Proctors in charge of arrangements. (Camden News - June 8, 1972)
