James T. Lock, Sr., 84, of Conway, passed away, Wednesday, September 7, 2011. He was born January 31, 1927 in Conway to the late Ernest Joseph Lock, Sr. and the late Mary Catherine Bruich Lock.
Mr. Lock was a retired meat cutter for Simon's Grocery, a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII and later serving in the Army Reserve. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4143, a 4th degree Knight and was a volunteer fireman for the Conway Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clarence Lock.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Ann Walter Lock; three sons, James Lock, Jr., Jeff Lock and Charles Lock all of Conway; three daughters, Susan Lee and husband George, Laura Lock, Beverley Wade and husband Paul all of Conway; sister, Mary Weber of Heber Springs, Arkansas; four brothers, Alvin Lock of Conway, Ernest Lock, Jr. of North Little Rock, Donald Lock of Conway and Dennis Lock of Conway; five grandchildren, Leon Lee and wife Jackie, Matthew Lee, Maegan Wade, James Paul Wade and Anna Grace Wade; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 6:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a rosary following at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00am, Friday, September 9, 2011 St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway (501)327-7727.
