Obituary
James Edward Burton, Jr, son of James Edward Burton, Sr and Georgia Carolyn Childers Burton, was born July 21, 1969 in Helena, Arkansas. He departed this life September 7, 2013 in Mountain View, Arkansas at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 17 days.
He was a 1988 graduate of West Helena Christian Academy.He was united in marriage to Misty Smith on March 12, 2005 in Charlotte, Arkansas and to this union one son was born. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, provider and friend. Before his death he was the parts manager at Mark Martin Chevrolet in Melbourne.
His interests included music, riding motorcycles, spending time with family and above all being a father to Parker.
He is survived by his wife: Misty Burton of the home; one son: Parker Glenn Burton of the home; one brother: Craig Burton and wife Wendy of Jonesboro; his parents: James Edward Burton, Sr. And Georgia Carolyn Burton of Helena, Arkansas; two sisters: Julie Grantham and husband Matt of Farmerville, Louisiana and Crystal Tackett of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; eight nieces; two nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: William Claude and Hazel Holland Burton; his maternal grandparents: George Clifford and Elsie Lynch Childers.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with David Jennings officiating.
Burial will be at Old Philadelphia Cemetery in Melbourne under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10 from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers: Mike Foshee', Daryl Kinney, Jon Roberson, Justin West, Andre Beale and Anthony Howard.
Honorary Pallbearers: Craig Burton, Warren Smith, and Chris McCrary.
