Howard Leslie Barr, 86, of Conway died Sunday (Oct. 3, 1999) at St. Andrews Place.
Born Feb. 19, 1913, in Clay County, Mo., son of the late Buford and Lizzie Pearson Barr, he was a peanut farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Conway.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Alva D. Barr.
Survivors are his wife, Ruby Van Huss Barr; a son, James Barr of Conway; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Wicker officiating.

Ruby E. Barr, 86, of Conway, formerly of Hinton, Okla., died Friday (June 28, 2002) at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Barr was born May 26, 1916, at Walter, Okla., a daughter of the late Harry and Ida VanHuss. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Hinton, Okla.; and attended the Hannah Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Conway.
Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Barr, who died Oct. 3, 1999; a son, Alva D. Barr; a sister, Irene VanHuss; and two brothers, Elbert and Lloyd VanHuss.
She is survived by a son, Jim Barr and wife Ladonna of Conway; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Barr of Moore, Okla.; a sister, Lura Sanders of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Zetta VanHuss of Yucaipa, Calif.; grandchildren, Sondra Kay Sage and husband Michael of Carlsbad, N.M., Dale Barr of Moore, Okla., James Barr and wife Heather of Conway; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Tamara Barr of Moore, Okla., and Andrew James Barr of Conway. She is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces.
Friends may stop by the funeral home from 2 to 7 p.m. today.
A gathering in remembrance will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery with Dr. Dale Wicker officiating.
