Graveside services for Chester Dean Tilley of Tecumseh, MO, will be Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Arkana Cemetery, with Reverend Louis Stephens officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Thursday, August 27 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Chester died Monday, August 24, 2009 in Tecumseh at the age of 81. He was born Wednesday, October 5, 1927 in Big Flat, Arkansas, the son of Roy Georgianman and Ida (Sutterfield) Harris Tilley. He married Rosella Harris on September 10, 1955 at Iowatha, Kansas and was a Fishing Guide. Chester Tilley was a U.S. Marine veteran. Chester lived in the twin lakes area most of his life. He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Chester Tilley is survived by 7 sons, Robert (Martha) Tilley of Yellville, AR, Leonard (Connie) Tilley of Mountain Home, AR, Jerry Tilley of Mountain Home, AR, Marvin Tilley of Summit, AR, Galen (Melissa) Tilley of Dora, MO, Terry Tilley of Dora, MO and Cory Tilley of Cotter, AR, 2 daughters, Janice (Jeff) Daye of Mountain Home, AR and Patsy Tilley of Cotter, AR, 3 brothers, Donald Tilley of Mountain Home, AR, Doyle Tilley of Mountain Home, AR and O.D. Tilley of Mountain Home, AR, 2 sisters, Linda Castro of TN and Rosalee Lewis of Mountain Home, AR, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Burial will be in the Arkana Cemetery, Arkana, Arkansas, with Robert, Leonard, Jerry, Marvin, Galen, Terry and Cory Tilley as pallbearers.
Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
