Jimmie Lee Grooms (July 12, 1933 - January 5, 2015)

Jimmie Lee Grooms, 81 of McRae passed away Monday at home. He was born July 12, 1933 in Beech Grove, Arkansas to Jessie and Lena Pigue Grooms. He was a longtime resident of St. Louis and a retired resident of Lawrence County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma Grooms(Sept. 9, 2014); brothers, Robert “Bud” Grooms and Charles Grooms; grandson, Jason Carroll.

He is survived by daughters, Velda Jean Carroll, Carol Hobbs, Kay Grooms Gray and Tammy Jolly; brothers, Gwendyl Grooms and J.L. Grooms; sisters, Bonnie Picture, Etta Mae Rone, Shirley Picture and Donna Couch; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at House Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Lynn with Craig Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery near Strawberry.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 at House-Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Lynn.

Pallbearers: Larry Jolly, Gary Hobbs, Joseph Miller, Jimmy Kent, Cletus Miller and Allen Carroll.

Honorary: Al Carroll.
