Franklin Craig Bartlett was born on April 18, 1841, in New Castle County, Delaware. He married Mary White on November 30, 1867, in Carlyle, Illinois. They had nine children in 17 years. He died on November 20, 1926, in Faulkner County, Arkansas, at the age of 85.
