Octavia Lee Donnell Taylor was born 7 Nov 1926 in Conway, AR to the late Sam J. and Josephine Pegg Donnell. In the early morning hours of 23 July 2018 she died in Camden, Arkansas where she had made her home for the past 58 years.

She graduated from Conway High School in 1942 and Arkansas Teacher's College, which is now the University of Central Arkansas, in 1949. She taught Physical Education, Spanish, and English in Hector, Texarkana, Fouke, and Camden for nearly 45 years. While teaching at the Camden High School she started the girl's athletic program. Till this past year she taught water aerobics at the Camden City pool where she was usually older than her students. Mrs. Taylor started the Historical Oakland Cemetery Cemetery Walk during the Daffodil Festival in Camden nearly 12 years ago. She was a Master Gardner in the Camden Garden Club, member of the Thursday Musicale, active member of the Retired Teachers Association, who often held their annual picnic in her back yard. She was also a member of the Tate's Bluff Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution where she held several offices and had developed a program on the Constitution and another on the Flag of the United States that was presented several times in the public school system. She was in the first confirmation class of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Conway, AR where her mother was an organizing member, and an active member of St. John Episcopal Church in Camden. Mrs. Taylor is previous recipient of The Camden's Lion's Club Woman of the year award, and acknowledge by the Camden Martin Luther King Committee for her community service in Camden, AR.

Mrs. Octavia Taylor was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Bruce E. Taylor of Vilonia, AR; grandparents James Riley and Lee Oria Glenn Donnell, and John Joseph and Octavia Boone Pegg. She is survived by her five children, Jo Kilduff (Rodney) and Charlotte Taylor (JoAnne MacIntyre) both of Conway, Donnell Bruce Taylor (Nicky) of Camden, Sammy Floyd (Bill) of Strong, AR, and James Glenn Taylor (Karen) of Hot Springs, 8 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 8 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at The Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, AR.
