GENTRY — Daniel "Dan" Switzer, 80, of Gentry died Dec. 14, 2008, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Nov. 26, 1928, in Campbell County, Ky., to Franklin and Jessie Marie Haney Switzer.
He moved to Gentry in 1976 and was formerly of California and Ohio. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a brick mason. He married Marie Rose Kleespies in 1953. He was a member of Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Daniel Switzer.
Survivors include his wife, Marie of the home; his son, Douglas Frank Switzer and wife Brenda of Gentry; five daughters, Esther Switzer of Siloam Springs, Karen Sierks and husband Terry of Gentry, Rebecca Lynn Duncan and husband Steve of Gentry Wendy Rosina Butler and husband Tim of Moodys, Okla., and Carolyn Ellis of Siloam Springs; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Switzer of Ohio, Bob Switzer and Gene Switzer, both of California; two sisters, Martha Cramlet and Sue Strunk, both of Ohio.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church. Ray House and Paul Vunileva will officiate. Burial will follow in Gentry Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Marie Rose Switzer, 83 year old resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died September 6, 2014 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born March 20, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Karl Kleespies and Rosina (Ernst) Kleespies. Marie married Daniel Switzer on November 14, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked in production for McKee Foods in Gentry and was a member of the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her parents, one son, Gregory Daniel Switzer; and two brothers, Phillip Kleespies and Ernst Kleespies.
She is survived by her six children: Esther Marie Switzer of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Karen Adeline Sierks and husband Terry of Gentry, Rebecca Lynn Duncan and husband Steven of Siloam Springs, Douglas Frank Switzer and wife Brenda of Gentry, Wendy Rosina Butler and husband Tim of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Carolyn Elisa Ellis of Gentry; 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one brother, Fred Kleespies of Phoenix, Arizona; and one sister, Anna Bach of Batavia, Ohio.
Pallbearers for the service will be grandsons: Robert Switzer, Jeffrey Howton, Bradley Sierks, Devin Watkins, Michael Sierks, Danny Switzer, Douglas Switzer and Austin Duncan.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 at Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church, Gentry, Arkansas with her nephew, Mr. Ed Strunk officiating. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
