FAYETTEVILLE — Govan Harris Burke, 90, of Fayetteville died April 3, 2005, at Fayetteville.

He was born June 23, 1914, in Marianna to Francis Noel and Bettie Govan Burke. He was a retired attorney and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a 32nd-degree Mason. He enjoyed reading.

He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas B. Burke.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Baterman Burke of the home; one son, Charles Burke and wife Ann of Bentonville; four grandchildren, Charles Burke, Charlotte Estes, Brian Burke and Becky Guthrie; three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Son's Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. Lowell Grisham officiating.

Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 224 N. East St., Fayetteville, 72701, or a favorite charity.

FAYETTEVILLE — Ruth Bateman Burke, 88, of Fayetteville died April 24, 2006, at Bentonville. She was born April 4, 1918, in Clarendon to Jake and Frances Kennedy Bateman. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas B. Burke, in 2001, and her husband, G.H. Burke, in 2005.

Survivors include one son, Charles Burke and wife Anne of Bentonville, four grandchildren, Brian Burke, Dr. Charles Burke, Becky Guthrie and Charlotte Estes; three great-grandchildren, Burke Estes, Bennett Estes and Hadley Burke.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Son's Clapel Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. Suzanne Stoner officiating.
