"UNCLE TOM" COUCH DIES, BURIED MONDAY
Thomas Wiley Couch died Sunday morning at 2 o'clock after a few days' illness.
Funeral services were held at Moore's parlors Monday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. C. C. Houston officiating. Interment was in Son's Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Couch was born April 7, 1850, in Missouri. His father, Joseph Couch, died in 1856 and his mother, who was a Miss Williams, in 1906. He was the last of seven children and had never married. A number of cousins live in and around Fayetteville. Mr. Couch was well known in the community and was familiarly known as "Uncle Tom."
