Robert W. "Smokey" Dearing, 62, of 1012 N. College, died last night at a local hospital. He was born Mar. 22, 1907 in Prairie Grove, the son of Albert and Emma Hannah Dearing.

He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Mary Dearing, of the home; two sons, Clinton of Springdale, and James Edward of Fayetteville; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Watson or North Little Rock; a brother, Joe, of Fayetteville and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will he 10:30 a.m. Monday it the chapel of Nelson's Funeral Home with burial in Son's Chapel Cemetery.

FAYETTEVILLE — Mary Curtis Dearing, 95, of Fayetteville went to heaven on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Mary was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Braggs, Okla., the daughter of Lewis Curtis and Lydia Curtis Watkins.

She was a member of Harris Baptist Church and also the Circle of Blessing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Dearing; granddaughter, Kim Brown; son-in-law, Jerry Watson; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Wanda Curtis; brother and sister-in-law, Jimroe and Donna Curtis; brother, Max Curtis; brother, Clyde Watkins; brother-in-law, Joe Dearing Sr.; and brother-in-law, Harris Burkes.

Survivors include Clinton Dearing and wife Lou, Jimmy Dearing and wife Susan; daughter, Elizabeth Watson; very special nephew, Joe Dearing; three brothers, Leonard Curtis, Homer Curtis and wife Kathryn, and Carl Curtis and wife Katherine; one sister, Adrienna Burkes; grandchildren, Kelly Lewis and husband Joey, Clint Dearing and wife Kimbra, Cindy Carr and husband Joe, Doug Watson and wife Crystal, David Dearing and wife Laura, and Brandon Dearing and wife Shanna; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and all of nephews and nieces, when she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Beard's Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Son's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service time.

Memorials may be made to Harris Baptist Church, Circle of Blessing Bible Study Group, or Washington Regional Hospice.
