She was a retired teacher for Conway Public Schools, a member of Christ United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, PCS Sunday school class, Delta Kappa Gamma, a recipient of the National Freedom Foundation and Feature Writer of the Year at the former Press Scimitar of Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Page Faris.
Survivors are a daughter, Mary Ann Thurmond; a son, Dr. Eliot R. "Tim" Faris, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m. today at Christ United Methodist Church and 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Conway.
Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove Cemetery of Conway by Memorial Park Funeral Home.
