William E. "Bill" Turrentine, 72, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Little Rock.

He was born Dec. 2, 1920, at Paris, to Arch and Roxy Lindsay Turrentine. A retired salesman, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and a member of the Habberton Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Eva E. Burson Turrentine of the home; three daughters, Anita Blanton of Little Rock, Lucy Narx of Rogers, Margaret Pruitt of Corsicana, Texas; two brothers, Ed Turrentine, Burton McGee, both of Fayetteville; three sisters, Freda Anderson of Fayetteville, Roberta Perry of Springdale, Burnadeen Farr of Delano, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville, with Randall Caselman officiating. Burial will be at Son's Chapel Cemetery.

FAYETTEVILLE — Eva Elizabeth "Betty" Turrentine, age 97, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016. She was born May 25, 1918, in Fayetteville, Ark., to William and Lucy Stuart Burson.

She was a member of Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville.

She and her husband William "Bill" Turrentine operated the Haberton Childrens Home fostering and caring for children. In her later years she and her husband also operated the original Sonora Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters — Eileen Oxford, Mildred Nixon; four brothers - Claude Burson, Roy Burson, Gene Burson and Kermit Burson.

She is survived by three daughters — Anita Blanton and her husband, Michael, of Fayetteville, Ark., Lucy McCauley and her husband, Terry, of Rogers, Ark., Margaret Turrentine of Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one honorary grandchild.

Visitation will be 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 27, 2016, at Center Street Church of Christ.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Center Street Church of Christ with a committal service 2 p.m. at Son's Chapel in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
