FAYETTEVILLE — Emma L. Banks, 67, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Fayetteville, the daughter of Nolan Albert and Viola Graham Banks.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Emma was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church, a graduate of University of the Ozarks and the University of Arkansas, a school teacher and school counselor, served 43 years in public school systems in Ozark, Ark., Stover, Mo., and Farmington, Ark. She was a charter member of Arkansas 4-H Alumni Association, also licensed lay speaker in the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Charles Banks and wife, Rose, of Tulsa, Okla.; her cousin, Lisa Partain of Farmington, and several other cousins; also her Farmington school family and generations of students she taught and counseled throughout the years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Goshen United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dennis E. Stropes and Pastor Denni Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Ozarks, 415 College Ave., Clarksville, AR 72830; or Goshen United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 112, Goshen, AR 72735.
