MAYFIELD — Dorothy Benson Cate, 87, of Mayfield, Ark., died Sept. 22, 2012, at her home. She was born June 6, 1925, near Spiro, Okla., the daughter of John Simon and Mary Iva Carter Totty.
She attended the Goshen United Methodist Church; and was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Benson of Goshen, Ark., and Warren Cate of Mayfield, Ark.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Julia and Bill Gustafson of Sparta, Mo., and Betty Thompson of Rogers, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Karen Benson of Goshen, Ark.; three stepsons and one stepdaughter-in-law, Jim and Brenda Cate of Springdale, Ark., Philip Cate of Little Rock, Ark., and Paul Cate of Hindsville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Stacy Gustafson and Wayne Gustafson; and several nephews and nieces.
Private interment was in the Goshen Cemetery under the direction of Brasbears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark.
