Mrs. Doris M. Nebben, age 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at her residence.
She was born March 31, 1929, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Fred E. and Dorothy Anderson Stengel. On June 23, 1948, she married Loren V. Nebben at the Pioneer Methodist Church in Rock Valley, Iowa. She moved to Mountain Home in January of 1965 from Hawarden, Iowa, and worked for over 45 years in the banking industry. Mrs. Nebben was an active member of First United Methodist Church, the Kate Few Circle, and the Saints and Sinners Sunday School Class; the Mountain Home Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, was past worthy matron of the Hawarden, Iowa chapter of the O.E.S. and was an active member of the DN Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining, card playing, embroidery and was a sports enthusiast.
Survivors are: one daughter: Julie A. (Johnny) Morgan: Russellville, Arkansas; two sons: Dean (Mechaele) Nebben: Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Curtis (Gail) Nebben: Fayetteville, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Dr. Loren Wayne (Jamison) Nebben: Clarksville, Tennessee, Mandy Morgan: Nashville, Tennessee, and Christopher A. (Jane Kim) Nebben: Little Rock, Arkansas; one great-grandson: Cooper Dean Nebben: Clarksville, Tennessee; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from Noon-9:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2016 at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Frase and Reverend Heather Clawitter officiating. Private interment will be in Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
