The History of the Oates-Sublett Family, by Charles E. Oates:
"At the age of five, Sis was a victim of Infantile Paralysis. She lived with her mother and stepfather, Andrew Jackson Witt until their death. The care and attention given to the stepchildren by A. J. Witt was a most outstanding example. This was especially true of his care of "Sis" Harrison. He was naturally a good man who put into practice his Christian and Masonic principles."
Parents:
Sarah Ann Witt (1835 - 1895)
Siblings:
Vitula Harrison (1862 - 1914)
Melvina E. Witt Wilhite (1870 - 1905)
Andrew Jackson Witt (1874 - 1934)
