Lawrence "Pug" Gayer, 95, of Goshen died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1909, in
Goshen to John Henry and Callie White Gayer.

Survivers include his wife of 71 years, Ruth Gayer, of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon Gayer and Glenda of Wesley, Rance Gayer and June of Wheeler, Corley "Pete" Gayer and Linda of Habberton, Russell Gayer and Connie of Goshen; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Hope Baptist Church and Goshen Masonic Lodge. He was a farmer and former chicken grower, an avid fisherman, hunter and played baseball.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Beard's Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will be David Gayer, Mark Gayer, Brian Gayer, Mike Gayer, Steve Gayer and Jessie Gayer.

Fureral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at the Goshen United Methodist Church with pastor Eldon Bagwell officiating. Burial will be
in the Goshen Cemetery under the direction of Beard‘s Chapel of Fayetteville.

The family requests memorials be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 610 E. Emma, Springdale, 72764.
