Dr. Albert Julian Sneed, 96, of Conway passed from this life on Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born June 26, 1919 in Clinton, AR to the late John W. and Clarkie Pate Sneed. He was also preceded in death by his wife Elnora H. Sneed.

Albert graduated Clinton High School in 1936. He attended Arkansas State Teacher’s College from 1936-39 and then went to Baylor Dental College graduating in 1943 with a D.D.S. degree. From 1943-46 he honorably served in the United States Army during World War II as part of the Army Dental Corps. During his service he was assigned to the China-Burma-India Theater and attained the rank of Major. From 1947-57 he had a private dental practice in Conway. From 1957-66 he worked for the Children’s Program of the Georgia Department of Public Health in Valdosta, GA. He later worked for the Conway Human Development Center as the Chief of Dental Services until his retirement in 1983. Albert was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway.

He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Nix (Glenn) and Laura Lee Casmus (John);a sister, Faye Hunnicutt; five grandchildren, Lee Nix (Christine), Natalie Benvenuto, Jonathan Casmus, Jacob Casmus, and Katy Hostman (Joe); and four great- grandchildren, Sam and Lily Nix, and Annabella and Luca Benvenuto.
