Dr. Roy C. Holl, for more than 20 years a member of the Hendrix College faculty, died unexpectedly. Stricken early last night with an attack of asthma, he later was taken to Memorial Hospital where he died. Survivors were his wife, and two sons.
1929: Of his first wife:
Succumbing to scarlet fever, Mrs. Jessie Hain Holl, 45, wife of Dr. Roy C. Holl, died at her home. Mrs. Holl had been in ill health for several months, but contracted the fever only three days ago. Her untimely death shocked the entire city.

Dollie Randleman Holl (1897 - 1995)
Mrs. Dollie Randleman Holl, 97, died at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. Mrs. Holl and her late husband, Dr. Roy C. Holl, were part of the academic community and were responsible for sizable scholarship funds at both the University of Central Arkansas and Hendrix College. Mrs. Holl served as a volunteer at Clifton Day Care Center and Arkansas Children's Colony. Survivors were two stepsons, a grandson and three great-grandchildren.
