FAYETTEVILLE — Elton E. Duncan, age 95, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, in Fayetteville. He was born March 5, 1916, in Japton, Ark., to Benjamin Franklin and Martha McChristian Duncan.
He was a member of Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers.
He worked at Moore's Chapel for 16 years, ANL Medical Laboratories, Veterans Hospital for 16 years and was co-founder of Duncan Nurseries.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran serving in the Aleutian Islands, Okinawa, Hawaii, Iwo Jima and the Philippines. He was honored with the Bronze Star for acts of bravery and merit. He was also an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Duncan, daughter; Diana Laningham and her husband Steve of Fayetteville, AR; son, Lindell Duncan and his wife, Robin, of Fayetteville, Ark.; sister, Georgia Logue of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren, Hilary Bell, Krista Nicewarner, Mary Carter, Mitch Laningham; two great-grandchildren, Liam Carter, Owen Bell; and many others who affectionately knew him as Grandpa.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Center Street Church of Christ with burial at Buckner Cemetery in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

FAYETTEVILLE — Marjorie Duncan, age 88, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Fayetteville. She was born July 26, 1926, the daughter of Stephen "Stone" and Nora "Della" Davis Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband Elton Edward Duncan, both of her parents and two sisters Anna Lea Porter and Bonnie Drake.
She worked in dietary services for the Fayetteville Public Schools.
She was a seamstress and a former member of the Mount Comfort Home Extension Club; she was a founding member of Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville.
She is survived by a son, Lindell Duncan and his wife Robin of Fayetteville; a daughter, Diana Laningham and her husband Steve of Fayetteville; sister, Saundra Payne of Fayetteville; a brother, Donald Roberts of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Hilary Bell and her husband Nathan, Krista Nicewarner and her husband Henry, Mary Carter and her husband Kevin, and Mitch Laningham; four great-grandchildren, Owen Bell, Liam Carter, Braden Bell, Ryland Nicewarner and many others who affectionately knew her as grandmother.
Visitation will be 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Moore's Chapel.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Center Street Church of Christ with burial at Buckner Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
