Mrs. Maud Fair McClure, widow of the late James McClure, died in Cave Springs Monday night following a stroke of paralysis. She was in good health Sunday afternoon but was stricken suddenly the next day. She did not regain consciousness after the stroke but died a few hours later. Burial was made in the Elm Springs cemetery. Funeral services were held upon the arrival of her daughter from California. Mrs. McClure was about 70 years of age. Her husband died about two years ago. She is survived by one son, Arthur M. McClure of Cave Springs and three daughters: Mrs. Fronce Smith and Mrs. Nettie Phillips of Cave Springs and Mrs. Smith who lives in California.

McCLURE, Maud FARRAR - On Monday evening, March 21st, 1927 at 5:30 o'clock at Cave Springs, Ark. at the age of 69 years and 26 days, God, in his infinite wisdom, saw fit to call Sister Maud McClure, very suddenly, to the city eternal. Sister McClure was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Farrar, pioneer citizens of Benton county. She was born Feb. 25, 1858 near Healing Springs, Ark. At the age of thirteen years she professed faith in Christ and united with the M.E. church near Healing Springs, later moving her membership to Elm Springs, remaining there until her death. She lived a devoted Christian, true to her faith and her church. On Feb. 15, 1873 she was united in marriage to J.R. McClure and to this union were born five children, four daughters: Mrs. Ida Wager, Saratoga, Wash.; Mrs. Ollie Smith, Santa Paula, Calif.; Mrs. Nettie Phillips, Seminole, Okla.; Mrs. Frona Smith, Cave Springs, Ark.; and one son, Arthur McClure, Cave Springs, Ark. He being the only child at her bedside at the time of her death. She leaves all to mourn her departure. Also fourteen grand-children and nine great grand-children, three brothers and two sisters, one brother-in-law, D.F. McClure. Her husband having preceded her some four years ago. Also a number of other relatives and a host of friends, those who knew her best loved her most.
