ROGERS — Jerold Brent Shinall, 74, born in Pine Bluff, Ark., on July 23, 1940, died Monday Oct. 13, 2014, at Jamestown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rogers, Ark.

Brent worked in building material sales for over 30 years. He played football for the University of Arkansas from 1958 to 1960 and graduated in 1963. He was a lifelong Razorback fan. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Doyle Gilmer and Lois Traylor Shinall.

The family will visit with relatives and friends today, Oct. 16, 2014, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, Ark.

Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, Ark., with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rogers, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Shinall of Rogers, Ark.; three sons, Brent Shinall Jr. (Claudia) of Houston, Texas, Pat Shinall (Jan) of Springdale, Ark., Brian Shinall (Lauren) of Amerillo, Texas; one sister, Lana Shinall of Jacksonville, Ark.; one brother, Lance Shinall of Allen, Texas; one sitter-in-Law, Barbara Shinall of Spring, Texas; two stepsons, Matthew Smith (Kathryn) of Springdale, Ark., and Jared Smith (Rebecca) of Ava, Mo.; eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Afton Scott, Todd Wood, Brent Hanby, Jon Dillinger, Scott Thrash and Jamie McEvoy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762; or Saving Grace, 1229 W. Poplar, Rogers, AR 72756.
