ROGERS — Rick W. Dillard, 50, of Rogers died Jan. 18, 2008, in Rogers. He was born Aug. 17, 1957, in Portales, N.M., the son of Norman R. and Sue Scott Dillard.

After graduating from Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, he graduated from Oklahoma State University. While attending OSU, he served as the university's mascot "Pistol Pete" for three years. He started his law enforcement career with the Stillwater Police Department in Stillwater, Okla. He then moved to Rogers and joined the Rogers Police Department and later served with the Benton County Sheriff's Department. He was a member and deacon at Lakeside Baptist Church in Rogers, a Scoutmaster in Stillwater and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy George Dillard, of the home. They were married Aug. 20, 1978, in Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his children, Derick and Dan Dillard, both of the home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth Street, in Rogers. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Lakeside Baptist Church in Rogers with Scott Hill officiating. A private family burial will be held Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church in care of the funeral home, online at www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
