March 4, 1897 - December 17, 1968
Daniel Webster Jackson, 71, of 1123 Pine St., died Tuesday night in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born March 4, 1897, in Union County, he was the son of Lewis W. and Allie Welch Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a retired employe of Warner Brown Hospital. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hazel Pope Jackson of El Dorado; two sons, Emory Jackson of Magnolia, and Raymond Jackson of El Dorado; a brother, C. P. Jackson of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Welch of El Dorado, and Mrs. Viola Singleton of Chidester; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Donald R. Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Herman Lipsey, R. F. "Hank" Clark, Walter Jackson, Frank Ethridge, Aylmer Jackson and johnny Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Grady Hill, Dr. Jack Sheppard, Dr. Charles Cyphers, and the Men's Sunday School class of the Central Church of the Nazarene. (El Dorado Times - December 18, 1968)
