John Carl Ferrell, 59, of Conway died Thursday (March 8, 2001) at his residence.

Born Nov. 23, 1941, in McGehee (Desha County), a son of John Clifford and Hazel W. Dorman Ferrell of Warren (Bradley County), he was retired from 36 years in the Army, where he served in Desert Storm. He was a member of Anderson Chapel in Dumas (Desha County) and Disabled American Veterans. He was a Mason and past master of Warren Lodge 33. He was a sergeant first class in the Army.

Other survivors are his wife, Sadie Mae Selman Ferrell; four daughters, Jana Colby of Bentonville, Renee Latiolais of Star City (Lincoln County), Samanthay Latiolais of Gould (Lincoln County), and Nova Theriot of New Iberia, La.; two sons, Glen Gideon and Kelley Gideon, both of Little Rock; two brothers, Thomas Wayne Ferrell of Monticello and Harry Clifford "Cliff" Ferrell of Star City; a sister, Julia Ann Harris of Texas; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with Ted Keen officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Theriot, Glen Gideon, Kelley Gideon, Joey Latiolais, Joseph Latiolais and Jason Jones.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 807 Court St., Conway, Ark. 72032.
