Margaret B. Nordmeyer, 90 of El Dorado, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House surrounded by her children and minister. She was born April 24, 1924, to Thomas Ashley and Susie Elizabeth Brown Bates in Smackover, AR.
Before her retirement she worked as a nurse's aide at Warner Brown Hospital for 20 years and was a member of the Norphlet United Pentecostal Church. She was a loving and caring mother and enjoyed cooking for her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Robert Lewis Nordmeyer; two brothers, Dan Newton Bates, George Bates; and two sisters, Frances Langley and Ruby Lee Nash.
Survivors include her two sons, Raymond Lewis Nordmeyer (Ann) of Camden, Billy Ray Nordmeyer (Ouida Faye) of El Dorado; brother, Jimmy Merel Bates of Texarkana, TX; one granddaughter, Tonya Hope (Will) of White Oak, TX; and great grandson, Seth Hope of White Oak, TX.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Young's.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at Young's Chapel with Rev. Nathan Dupree officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction Young's Funeral Directors.
